Sam Sallon's first studio release, a three track acoustic EP, began life as a demo in 2005 but soon brought Sam to the attention of some of the UK's best live promoters. A UK tour with Mexican duo Rodrigo y Gabriella saw him embark on a string of broad-reaching supports from I am Kloot at the Islington Academy to Nouvelle Vague at the Pigalle. Recent months have seen Sam opening for Pete Doherty at his landmark sellout Royal Albert Hall show, for Dot Allison at her UK album launch and for Lyle Lovett at the Royal Festival Hall.
Sam's debut single, 'You May Not Mean to Hurt Me (But You Do)' , produced by David Watson, won the 2009 EMA award for Best Folk Song and Sam has been nominated two years running for the official 'Best of Myspace'.
His first LP will be out in the spring featuring some special guest appearances including Kamila Thomson and Neil Cowley.
Main support -
Alex Berger - is a London-born singer-songwriter.
Alex wrote a song ('Where I Left You Last') with successful American singer-songwriter Amber Rubarth in London during the summer of 2008 and was invited to record it later that year in New York. It was during these sessions that Alex came to the attention of producer Alex Wong (The Animators, The Paper Raincoat, Vienna Teng, Ari Hest). This began a journey that culminated with Alex's first studio album, 'Snow Globe', recorded in New York over the summer months of 2009.
The record features many noted musicians including cellist Marika Hughes (Whitney Houston, Ani DiFranco, Santana, Yo Yo Ma), cellist Paul Brantley (James Morrison), violinist Christiana Liberis (Shakira, Ricky Martin, Tommy Lee, Josh Groban), Drummer Adam Christgau (Ingrid Michaelson, Joshua Radin, Rosi Golan) and Bass player Chris Kuffner (Regina Spektor, Greg Laswell).
While recording, the buzz from the studio spread to writers Adam Levy (Norah Jones, Tracy Chapman) and Nate Campany (Josh Groban, The Click Five, Rosi Golan). Alex has now written with both. Alex has also recently written with British singer-songwriter and YouTube star, Greg Holden - currently on tour in the US with Ingrid Michaelson,
It has just been confirmed that Berger will be composer for Brazilian film-maker Marco Aurelio's up-coming feature-film, 'Shades of Gray'. He is also in discussions with a major U.S. studio about composing the score for another up-coming picture.
