Doors 7.30
A Christmas show from one the UK's fiercest live acoustic talents, fresh from touring with James Morrison. Voted Best Solo Act by Acoustic London in 2005, Martin Harley Band delivers catchy, familiar bluesy songs underpinned by soaring slide guitar, jumparound bass and the worlds smallest drumkit.
Notorious for their hard gigging schedule, MHB have been steadily building a loyal fan base across the globe. Highly regarded by both roots/blues and a more contemporary audience, the band write songs about paths crossed, loves lost and the hobo lifestyle of a band on the road. Musically you can expect dreamy country ballads, hard-edged urban grooves and full-on raging slide guitar blues. In 2008 MHB have been promoting their latest release "One For The Road" and they have toured in the UK twice, France, Germany, Barbados and Australia. With a recent BBC Radio 2 session for Johnnie Walker keeping their spirits high (not to mention the rum in Barbados) they'll deliver a blistering set for their Luminaire debut.
"Nobody is making music like it. 4.5/5" (Guitarist Magazine, June 2008)
"Fantastic!" (Johnnie Walker, BBC Radio 2)
