Formed in the last quarter of 2008, The Coldharbour Band is the new vehicle for London-Irish singer/songwriter, Kevin Tuffy. A vast array of guitars, strings and percussion introduce a new dynamic that elevates to wall of sound crescendos just as suddenly as it falls away to a clumsily strummed solo acoustic guitar, breathing new life into his Americana-tinged, lyrically narrative compositions. Currently assembling their first LP, preview the record live at Love Physics as well as reprised alternative versions of tracks from last year's unanimously well-received EP. 

Main support is Thom Stone and this is the first London show from the critically acclaimed songwriter since his relocation to Manchester last year, with a handful of indie releases under his belt, material soundtracked by E4 and currently finishing up his debut full-length record. Any early comparisons to Ryan Adams have long-since dissolved into a melting pot of Sam Cooke-esque soul, early Motown R 'n' B, Neil Young balladry, Sun Records era Johnny Cash and nods to the Anglo-American folk revivalists of the 60s, to reveal perhaps the most mature and accomplished songbook of any songwriter performing in Britain today. His intimate solo shows encompass brutally honest performances of his timeless compositions delivered in his irrestible, lazy croon. Expect some new tracks and maybe a surprise cover scattered in the set. 

Opening are Alloy Ark, the best band in 2008 to make a blip on Kevin's musical radar, performing their debut London show. Piano-led, pop songs that juxtapose sunsoaked melody with melancholic lyrics, constructed with the most intricate attention to detail. This elusive boy-girl duet boast the most heartbreakingly beautiful vocal performances that skip through the songs with a phrasing style that is innovative and incredibly original, colourful harmony and pitter-patter percussion complete the picture. Not to be missed!
