The infectious energy and enthusiasm Two Fingers of Firewater display on stage, whether rocking out or mellowing with some tender twang, is testament to their musicianship, experimentation and shared love of playing without restriction.
They've gigged extensively throughout the UK, adding wah-wah mandolin to 1930s folk songs, tearing up stages with Rolling Stones accomplice Al Perkins and proving that there is a place for trombone in rock'n'roll. The band's first album, recorded in a giant fridge on a strawberry farm, mined a classic alt.country sound - great melodies backed by pedal steel, acoustic guitar, Telecasters, accordion and synthesiser. Their catchy tunes range from last order laments to summer pop harmonies.
After spending winter recording in a new studio back on the farm they are ready to release a new CD with a definitive sound that displays a new maturity and varied influences, from Vampire Weekend to Big Star. BBC legend Bob Harris calls Two Fingers of Firewater "chaotic - but wonderful" and musicOMH.com reckons they are "the kind of band you imagine Jack White would like to discover and keep in a cage". These gentlemen will delight anyone who loves playful songwriting and warm melodies but is also unafraid to rock.
