Ashley Beedle and Darren Morris, aka Mavis, bring their new project out of the studio and into the live arena for the first time to celebrate the release of the Mavis album in February. Taking the album as a starting point, a selection of tracks will be played on the night with a drums, keys and bass trio supplementing Ashley's beats and samples. Guest vocalists from the album set to perform are Edwyn Collins, Ed Harcourt, John Turrell and Danielle Moore of Crazy P whilst Sarah Cracknell will DJ alongside Ashley Beedle, Kevin Rowland and Chris Coco.
'Mavis', the album, is released by !K7 on February 15th 2010 and features a collection of well known and emerging vocal talent take a single original backing track and, with the production guidance of Ashley and Darren, twist it into individual shapes to create ten original songs of beauty and honesty. Joining our vocalists for the night on the album are Kurt Wagner, Candi Staton, Sarah Cracknell, Chris Coco, Cherilyn MacNeil, Disa and Cerys Matthews.
'Mavis', the album is preceded by a limited edition EP release on January 18th featuring Kurt Wagner's 'Gangs Of Rome', Ed Harcourt's 'Puzzles and Riddles' in finished and alternative versions and John Turrell's 'What You Looking For'.
