With a pocket full of lightning and a stetson full of straw,
Rev. Rasp Thorne brings his Sermon To The Apocalypse to The Luminare on Sunday July 5th. With his NYC band Ryder Pales, the grizzling force of nature that is Son of Dave and the renegade hi-jinks of Hooligan Night it's set to be a scorching night of depraved salvation. Come on down to the Apocalypse!
"Rasp Thorne is rock and roll to the core!" - Time Out
Headlining this evening is the mighty
Son of Dave. "A force of nature. This one man band has become one of the most entertaining live performers in the world." - Dazed & Confused
"Great pop tunes with meaty hooks and catchy choruses." - NME 8/10
"A sensuous symphony of sin… a glimpse into the future. This is his triumphant manifesto." - Observer Music Monthly 4/5
"Makes even Beck seem conventional." - Uncut
"Fuzzy human beatbox blues…grizzled…rough edged…raw…melodic." - The Telegraph
"A musical chameleon of great dexterity." - The Independent
Main support - hailing from the rusted rails of Bushwick Brooklyn - are the shit-kickin' brimstone four piece band
Ryder Pales. From the prophetic murder-laden rantings of front-man Rasp Thorne stretched over scathing bow slices of violin and bass scrambled by theremins and held in check by the drum set, Ryder Pales is set to trample The Luminare.
""Like Nick Cave having an aneurysm."" - Chad Stockwell, The Brooklyn Rail
Currently one of talked-about acts on the London live circuit,
Hooligan Night are a vixen-fronted juggernaut, combining outrageously addictive Electro-Punk beats with twisted, Technicolour performance art spectacle.
Fronted by darling of the London performance scene, notorious 'delinquent' showgirl Ruby Blues, whose vocal stylings and stage-presence have been compared to the likes of Siouxie Sioux, Debbie Harry and Peaches.
The handiwork of production maestro Nik Diezel of LSDiezel – the musical branch of underground art icons the Mutoid Waste Co., the formidable line-up also includes Alabama 3 keyboard player Orlando Harrison, Carnival Of Souls guitarist Gus Robertson with Soho Dolls Paul Stone on drums.
