Wed 31st The Sound Source & Luminaire presents ALEXANDER’S ANNEXE + Ruth Wall & Sarah Nicolls

Running order spnm's experimental bi-monthyl series opens with a bang, with an event headlined by Alexander's Annexe. A collaborative performing and writing trio consisting of sound technologist David Sheppard, Warp Records artist Mira Calix and contemporary music pianist Sarah Nicolls, the group aims to incorporate the sonority, beauty, physical energy and impact of live piano performance into a larger scale feast for the ears through the use of live and pre-composed electronics. "Decidedly unsettling and extraordinarily seductive." [Uncut] "The resulting noise is more than appealing, ranging from the minute scratching and squeaking of tiny mechanical creatures to bass heavy drones." [9 Lives] As part of each Sound Source night this series, we’re also giving you the chance to shape one element of the night that will affect the way you experience the event. Each event we’ll have a couple of options that we’ll ask you to vote on at our online forum. Whichever option is most popular, we’ll then make happen!

We are looking for electronic and vocal artists who would like to perform live (using a simple set-up) and artists who have exciting electronic material.
