Tue 24th Club AC30 presents GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT + They Came From The Stars, I Saw Them + The Strange Death of Liberal England + DJs
Doors 7.30
Epic instrumental band God Is An Astronaut are a three piece from Dublin, Ireland. "All is Violent, All is Bright" is God is an Astronaut's second album, released in the UK on Rocketgirl. This album trademarks their colossal build ups from serene ambience to searing intensity. Considered by many as the most intense live act to emerge from Ireland in recent times due to their controversial audio/visual shows, this album is a closer representation of their live sound. They Came From The Stars, I Saw Them have ebbed and flowed along their merry stream since 1999 in all manner of incarnations from the sublime to the ridiculous, and are currently honed down to a 4-piece rock and rock outfit. Sing along with us one time, wont you? It was close and grey on the day that The Strange Death of Liberal England (TSDOLE) began to make their noise. Their sound mimicked the oncoming thunder. Some said it was these five who created the storm, but then came melodies, melodies which were said to be more beautiful than the moon at its brightest. They sang and chanted, and soon people came from far and wide to join in their celebrations. Such celebrations included playing the London Barfly with the likes of Jamie T, The Maccabees and Jeniferever after being awarded DrownedinSound.com's readers' choice award as the top tip for 2006.
