Sat 25th The Luminaire and Infants present SELFISH CUNT + Infants + Headless + Chik Budo + DJs Tiger Force, Housecat Records & Barrington
Doors 7.30
Selfish Cunt, you'll have worked out by now, are "a sonic V flicked at anyone who cares." [NME], "a stage-smashing, leotard-ripping, crowd-smacking scourge" [Playlouder] and "vastly entertaining" [The Guardian]. Main support Infants are "London-based pop terrorists sounding like Melt Banana clawing the eyes out of Brainiac; only they were brought up on insane underground dance rhythms." [Drowned in Sound]
Of Headless, the NME were moved to write; "Four punk rock valkyries in vintage baby-doll dresses, London's Headless are proof that a lack of musical virtuosity is no barrier when combined with an unquenchable passion for resurrecting rocks grunge diaries. Like one of Polly Jean Harveys eerie midnight tales being soundtracked by metal goliaths Black Sabbath. " Opening proceedings are Chik Budo, a South East London five piece who marry the jazz experimentalism of John Zorn and the energy of post-punk luminaries such as Fugazi, with a thoroughly contemporary electronic dance bent. The end result is a hugely accessible blast of 21st Century Electro Jazz Punk that were pretty confident will have you swinging from the rafters." [Drowned in Sound] |
