"Enter the beautifully odd world of Rose Kemp. An impressive array of guitar pedals provides an impressive arsenal of effects through which to showcase her unique, folk-inflected voice. The highlight emerges when Rose utilises tape delay to loop and intertwine her various vocal hooks into one glorious whole. Stunning stuff." [The Fly]

“I don’t have any boundaries and I write for nobody but myself – it’s very liberating!” It’s just this kind of uncompromising statement that has made Rose Kemp, just 21 yet blessed with an ear for inventive melody and an impossibly rich and reaching voice, the toast of the UK DIY and underground scene.
Solo, she accompanies herself with shimmering electric guitars, or loops her voice into complex, sumptuous, harmonised hooks, or simply sings unadorned, unamplified and a’cappella.
With her band behind her, brilliant songs become irresistible, monstrous tunes, and she can rock any room, sway any crowd.
The release of her single 'Violence', a blistering, hypnotic song that, as Rose explains, “captures that reeling silence when somebody hangs up the phone just as you’re laying bare your vulnerabilities”, on One Little Indian Records this autumn should confirm her cult status: January’s release of her 'A Hand Full of Hurricanes' LP will see her playing her way out of the fanzines and onto the front covers.

Main support is from Underground Railroad, a gender bending, jaw-dropping, whilrwind of filthy beats, beautiful bass-lines, squalling guitars, male/female vocals and an extremely casual regard for the integrity of their limbs.
Having formed in the grey and dirty city of Paris in 2003 and bonded over a shared love of chaotic nervous noisy rock influenced by The Velvet Underground, The Stooges, the Cure, Ride, Black Flag, Deerhoof or Nirvana, they got bored of touring France so decided to move to London, signing to One Little Indian Records last month and releasing their debut single, 'Cookies & Milk'.
On stage, they're an explosion of genuine energy and anger, a true storm of music catching up everyone in it's path.

Sleeping States is the musical output of one Markland Starkie, a 23 year old small town somebody currently residing in the Big Smoke. Having spent a lot of time over the past few years making as much noise as possible whilst serving time in several bands including Kaito (Blast First/Mute) and Antihero (Integrity), Markland started recording songs at home that were entirely more minimal in both volume and arrangement, influenced from the experiences involved in moving to London after graduating in Norwich and taking inspiration from lessons learned, and unlearned, whilst studying composition at school. As these songs grew in number Markland decided they needed his full attention and so Sleeping States was founded.
