Sun 12th Eat Your Own Ears presents BEIRUT + A HAWK AND A HACKSAW - Co-headlining
Doors 7.30 Beirut is the work of the 20 year old Zach Condon. His music is inspired by a love of European folk music, as filtered by a fertile imagination raised in New Mexico and currently resident in Brooklyn. Tonight they deliver orchestrated pop for fans of Sufjan Stevens, Calexico, Arcade Fire, the Magnetic Fields, Klezmer, Neutral Milk Hotel and the Boban Markovic Orchestra. There are no guitars; instead, horns, violins, cellos, ukeleles, mandolins, glockenspiel, drums, tambourines, congas, organs, pianos, clarinets and accordians all build and break around Zach Condon's deep voiced crooner vocals, swaying to the Eastern European beats like a drunken 12 piece carnival band.
