Doors 8.00 Once again Lazy Gramophone serves you a splendid night of music and spoken word at the venue of venues. Need anymore be said?! Well, let us speak of The Irrespressibles' 10 piece orchestra. “The Irrepressibles ride on the cusp of danger.” [Flux] “Inhuman, and incredibly moving” [Playlouder] Where old rebellions have lost their way, their shapes carved out and replicated, A troupe of merry makers made new paths and slept deep dreams with hands dug deep. They pulled out instruments from forgotten times and opened gates to forgotten lands. “Fantastically theatrical” [BBC Collective] Simon Gibson plays a lush involved acoustic set reminiscent of John Martyn, Ben Harper and CSNY. Accompanied by virtuoso percussionist Pax Amphlett. Voted best upcoming act of the southwest, Mr Gibson is not to be missed. Adam Green will be reading from his debut novel and Lazy G first publication ‘Satsuma Sun-mover’. "Satsuma Sun-mover' is Adam Green’s first novel but you wouldn’t think that from its confident picaresque stance, somewhere on the hinterland between Beckett, Flann O’Brien, and Saul Bellow.’ [Outside Left] Sam Rawlings will be reading from his first published collection of poetry (Lazy Gramophone Press) Sam’s sketches are simple and honest, these poems seek to placate experience and depict the eternity beyond our landscape. Guy J. Jackson writes stories and then performs them, a foolish cross between Garrison Keillor, Mick Jagger, and A. Whitney Brown. Biographically speaking, Guy is a male, lives in London these days, and you can also hear him regularly on Resonance FM. The night will be finished off by our in house DJ nochancemilega and others.
