Now, in their umpteenth configuration, Kurt Heasley [above] and his newest batch of The Lilys return in 2006 with a new album of recordings entitled 'Everything Wrong Is Imaginary'. A departure of sorts (imagine that) from previous material, '...Imaginary' returns to the guitar-driven glory of early works in spots, while retaining the pious whimsy of the late '90s Lilys for good measure.
Quincy Jones worship, pop ridiculum, beatbox breakdown all included, all guided by the able production and contributions of Michael Musmanno.
The disparate elements that resulted in The Entity now known as
Of Arrowe Hill initially coalesced in a warehouse in East London, springing from the errant conversations of exiled Northerners, way back during the last century. After a couple of 7" releases, a debut album 'The Spring Heel Penny Dreadful & other Tales of Morbid Curiosity' in May 2003 and a recording session for the late Sir John Peel, rumours of the band's demise abounded. A sophomore record "Hexadelica and the Speed of Darkness" in 2005 put the kybosh on that. Indeed, a third album will be forthcoming this summer.
Project AKO is the band formed by Fergus, Elaine and Ian from Urusei Yatsura. Expect lots of lo-fi pop goodness from the trio with this rare London appearance.
