If we were any more excited about Datatock coming to play here it would be because Datarock were coming to play here twice.
Since opening, this is the show we're most looking forward to.
This is the one we're giddy about.
This is the one we'll be banging on and on about until it happens, and then for weeks after.
We saw them in Oslo last year and this is what we wrote:
"And let us talk of Datarock. Of Fredrik Saroea, and Ketil Mosnes, of the most uproariously sleazy, sexually ambiguous, camp-disco-synth-pop and one-minute forty-second ejections of skewed punk songs about, I think, George Bush's pubic hair. Of hardcore guitars, programmed beats, glitches, hand-claps, inane choruses and call-and-response verses, backed by two drummers and what amounts to an all-male aerobics choir, in matching tracksuits, shot through with a lyrical literacy which frankly embarrasses the majority of their contemporaries, and pretty much everyone else working with English as a first language. Which they're not. It's glorious, genius, acerbic and Nordic."

Suppoting are fellow Nords Ungdomskullen, formed in 2000 and since then they have managed to confuse all of Norway with their constant changing of bandnames. Standing Ovation, then Goddamnit and now Ungdomskulen. But with this they managed to get the Norwegians to pay attention to what they were doing; because now people take pride in being updated on what the band is calling themselves right now. But, for the moment it seems like the guys are happy with Ungdomskulen. Ungdomskulen consist of three young gentlemen, Frode Flatland (bass), Kristian Stockhaus (git+vocs) and Øyvind Solheim (drums).
They play a punkesque version of prog, disco, rock and new wave.
