Sat 10th Infants & The Luminaire presents InFest FUTURE OF THE LEFT + Infants + Get Crucial
Doors 7.30
After the break-up of seminal punk outfit Mclusky, singer/guitarist Andy "Falco" Falkous and drummer Jack Egglestone, along with Jarcrew's singer/bassist Kelson Matthias, formed like Voltron to create Future of The Left. Expect incendiary verbal tirades, destructive drums and violent, jagged guitars twisting around an imaginative, cerebal core. Main support and tonight's curators Infants are "London-based pop terrorists sounding like Melt Banana clawing the eyes out of Brainiac; only they were brought up on insane underground dance rhythms." [Drowned in Sound] Get Crucial, first on, are a three piece from London consisting of two boys (Andrew Robert Doig and Mikey White) and a girl (Cesca). They are looking to create the ultimate song, though you'll have to ask them or listen to them to find out what on earth they're on about. Influenced by the likes of Brainiac and Arab On Radar to Polvo and Guvnor, they plough a loudly distorted and dirgy bass furrow, driven by minimal vocals and stabs of guitar and synth.
