Bat For Lashes create an intimate, cinematic world, reminiscent of the nocturnal wanderings of Kate Bush and the heartfelt prayers of Cat Power. Natasha composes songs that rise out of a dark, heartbreak wilderness and take you on a journey into the light. Taking influence from '70s film soundtracks, weather phenomena, childhood Halloween parties and a David Lynchian vision of suburbia, they occupy the tenebrous space between innocence and a loss of innocence and come straight from the storyteller's heart.
Live, the music comes across like a gun that fires wolves. Natasha's majestic vocal howls, whispers and hiccups to a backdrop of soaring strings, esoteric folk instruments, distorted guitar, bass rumbles and thunder-clap drums.
The current Bat For Lashes line up is singer Natasha and Ginger Lee who both play a mixture of piano, guitars, harpsichord, autoharp and electronic machines and three string players Anna, Mary and Abi who double up on percussion.
Get down early though, and experience the wonderful, surreal world of
Ralfe Band. Their intriguing tangle of folk-tinged music absorbs Eastern European and American sounds with a unique character that is undeniably English.  Their darkly poetic lyrics and enchanting melodies take you on a journey through ever changing moods. On stage, they use guitar, bass, piano and drums with mandolin, viola, lap-steel and anything else to hand.
“Ralfe Band are one of my favourite groups right now. Their records take you on a weird and wonderful journey to their own little wonderland.” [Mark Radcliffe]
“Ralfe Band have delivered one of the most arresting debuts of the year.” [Music Week]
“appealingly wonky acid-folk”  [The Guardian]
“strangely addictive” [Dazed and Confused]
To open proceedings, one of Zane Lowe's recent favourites
Findlay Brown plays a solo acoustic set of warm, quirky folk.
