Sun 2nd

OXFAM and The Gurkha Welfare Trust present
VIAROSA
+ Leeroy Stagger & The Sinking Hearts
+ Treecreeper

An evening of blistering, country infused mutations as part of TRAILWALKER

Doors 6.30
£5

Viarosa headline the bill with their timeless accounts of sin, salvation and redemption. More Anglicana than Americana, Viarosa have been compared to Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen and Jim Morrison. Uncut magazine described their first album 'Porous', as "Oustanding. Sounds like The Birthday Party doing Johnny Cash."
Next on the bill is
Leeroy Stagger & The Sinking Hearts, hailing all the way from the rural outskirts of British Colombia. Stagger, who is on the brink of releasing his fourth as yet untitled album, is both wondrous and intense. Having toured with The Pixies, Modest Mouse and Evan Dando, Leeroy Stagger is a seasoned performer and a Canadian national treasure.
Having risen from the ashes of a doomed Hart Crane, Will Burns has partnered up with his brother Greg to form
Treecreeper to deliver a unique sound in the ilk of Son Volt, Neil Young and Uncle Tuplo! Their intelligent and eagerly awaited first album 'Grain' has recently been recorded at Faraway Studios in Notting Hill and will be available for your listening pleasure very soon.
All proceeds from the event go to
Oxfam GB and The Gurkha Welfare Trust to aid education projects in Nepal. Your efforts will help people to work their way out of poverty and build a better future for their families. This event is part of the fundraising scheme for Trailwalker and will be recorded as part of a documentary to be screened in the autumn. Check www.thelongestwalk.co.uk for more information about Trailwalker, the bands and the documentary.
