Thu 22nd The Hit Sheet and BMI present THE HEDRONS + Grace + Tyler + Tilney Sky
Doors 7.30 At the inaugural Luminaire Hit Sheet, here's what you can look forward to: The Hedrons formed in 2005 in their native Glasgow. With a relentless gigging schedule capped by several sell out performances, a Top 20 Indie single and back-to-back Top 5 Indie chart success with recently released singles ‘I Need You’ and ‘Heatseeker’, the four-piece have established themselves as one of the country’s foremost emerging rock bands. “A blistering force to be reckoned with…outstanding…original’ [The Fly} The band’s music can be described as one part Ramones-esque brawn, one part femme-fatale roar, and one part ruthless guitar-driven nerve. The Hedrons have been the subject of many a new band feature and live review in the likes of the Sunday Times, The Times, The Guardian, NME, The Fly, Rocksound and Metal Hammer, to name a few. And you may have heard them on the likes of XFM, Radio 1, Radio 2 and 6Music. “Sensational - joins the dots between PJ Harvey and The Runaways.” [Sunday Times] By the end of 2006, The Hedrons had completed in excess of 120 dates – a number that combines two full UK headline tours in addition to a special guest spot for the only Alice In Chains UK date this year at the London Astoria and a handful of summer festival dates. The band released their debut album ‘One More Won’t Kill Us’ to much acclaim on 5th February 2007 and have just completed their third headline UK tour. Next up is a North American tour which will include dates at South by Southwest and in New York, LA and Canada. “A self assured and deliciously energising pedal-to-the-metal affair.” [Mojo]
Main suppor are Grace, led by the enigmatic JP Grace, a band that are going places in 2007. Beorfe that we've Tyler, for whom we predict a very rosy future indeed and Tilney Sky - imagine a rockier U2 and Coldplay with attitude. Tilney Sky are ones to watch this year. |
