Sat 9th Ra Ra Ra & LittleThink present: SANTA DOG + Firstofthegiants + The Tacticians + Indie-MP3/SoundsXP DJs
Doors 8.00
Santa Dog play sparkly, heartfelt guitar pop with a sinister perimeter. Think Blondie going two rounds with the Throwing Muses on the edge of a cliff with a bracing English breeze whipping up skirts and causing mischief and you're still nowhere near capturing the band's distinctive sound and uniquely British charm. "Simply sumblime" [SoundsXP] 2005's Chemical EP saw the band gain exposure and airplay on BBC One Music, NPR, Radio 1 and regional BBC stations. The EP also appeared in the top 10s of 2005 of several leading indie music websites. The band have been steadily gathering a global grassroots following through fanzines, blogs and live shows - resulting in the first pressing of their latest EP Belle de Jour selling out on pre-orders. Work has now started on the debut album and European dates are planned in 2007 thanks to export assistance from the UK DTI. Main support are Firstofthegiants, unbridled melodic joy and girl-fuelled beatpop that makes you feel: a) like driving very fast with your head out of the window or b) very old to be 25. Handsomely majestic indieness at its finest. First on, Brothers Joe Jr. and Ollie form the heart of The Tacticians . These siblings sing sometimes gritty, often tongue-in-cheek urban tales of dangerous liaisons, temptation, failure, heartbreak and love in the city they call home.
