The Luminaire presents
DATAROCK
+ Shakes
+ New Adventures + One Imaginary Girl [DJ]

SOLD OUT

SOLD OUT

They're coming back. We're trying to keep a lid on our excitement but any minute now we're about to competely lose it. In May, Datarock had the first five rows of Lumi pogoing and we're guaranteeing more of the same tonight.
“Exciting, fun, clever, funny, danceable, sexy, righteous, cool, sussed and unique." [NME]
“A perky, synthpop hybrid with a peculiar sense of humour.” [Uncut]
“A surprising treat. It makes for quite a party." [Q]
Main support are Shakes - siblings Matt and Darren Farrow - with their monstrously distorted synths, minimal pulses and barky vocals which mark them out as fans of DFA, but a dash of dark techno takes it somewhere else – Detroit, specifically. They've found the missing link between the indie rock sound du jour and the vogue-ish electro sound currently ruling European dancefloors. Like a Talking Heads for 2006, they fire out clever indie rock and abrasive post-punk, while always keeping an ear on what makes people jack.
New Adventures - who've been refining their art for a year deep in the confines of rehersal rooms - open. Time for them to step out. Emo indierock? Synth pop? Bit of both. A new adventure, in fact.
