Upset The Rhythm presents
GANG GANG DANCE
+ Boy Better Know
+ Dylan Nyoukis

SOLD OUT

Gang Gang Dance's is a quartet spawned from the same fertile Brooklyn underground that's given rise to the likes of Animal Collective and Black Dice. After two amazing albums for The Social Registry ('God's Money' is surely a classic of our time) they have forged a reputation as one of the most unique live bands operating anywhere today. With cyclic rhythms, synthetic motifs, MIDI guitar and delay drenched Kate Bushian vocals intertwined, their seamless sets encompass Middle Eastern melodies, pysch-rock freakouts, a free-noise mentalism and, above all, total rave euphoria! This will be their third UTR performance to date and follows a slot at this year's TDK Cross Central festival.

Main support are Boy Better Know, a UK Garage act featuring Tinchy Stryder (guesting on the new Gang Gang Dance album), JME and DJ Maximum.
If anyone ever deserved the title "national treasure" it's surely first on Dylan Nyoukis! This man kick-started the UK noise scene way back in mid-90s Scotland with his sister Lisa, under the Prick Decay guise. Now based in Brighton, Dylan's probably best known for his work in Blood Stereo with his wife Karen Constance, his endless collaborations with the likes of Thurston Moore, Carlos Giffoni and Wolf Eyes to name a few, as well as running the Pink Toes / Chocolate Monk CDR empire.
Tonight Dylan will be performing a solo set of vocal intonements and tape loops. Invoking voices from within - anything from the whimper of child to the tortured reminiscences of an old man - this is at once chilling and beautiful stuff.
