Quasi from Portland, Oregan are the most compact of set-ups; just Sam Coomes (keys and tricks) and Janet Weiss (rocket percussion). Out of that, they somehow manage to create the illusion of thrilling, sophisticated neo-orch pop, punctuated with chaotic breakdowns and unexpected pyrotechnics. This weird dynamic can almost make the music seem at war with itself, and is one reason why Quasi is always worth checking out. And Quasi's great way with winning pop melodies has inevitably led to some comparison with '60s heroes like The Kinks and The Zombies.
We're very pleased to welcome them here as they play tracks, no doubt, from their newest album 'When the Going Gets Dark' on Domino Records. Quasi will be accompanied by Joanna Bolme on bass [Steven Malkmus & The Jicks].
Main support from These New Puritans. "These New Puritans erupt with psychopathic rhythms and distorted basslines that explode in a dark yet accessible notion of artistic pop. Frankly, it would be odious to compare them to anyone, such is their brilliance." said NME.

First on are Born Ruffians, XL Records' latest signing.
