Skygreen Leopards were formed in San Francisco in 2001 by Glenn Donaldson and Donovan Quinn. Donaldson is the founder of influential new-folk label Jewelled Antler and also plays in The Blithe Sons, Thuja, The Franciscan Hobbies, and The Birdtree. With Skygreen Leopards, though, he weaves a many-coloured tapestry of junkshop folk, West Coast psychedelia, country-drone, forest noises and lo-fi spirituals. This is the band’s first-ever London show and precedes both an appearance at the Green Man festival and a new album, their sixth, called ‘Disciples Of California’. |
