To celebrate the launch of their eagerly anticipated new EP, Semaphore and The Luminaire present an evening of searing rock action! Opening the evening's entertainment is Tallulah Rendall; the voice of an angel and the guitar of the devil complimented by a red hot band featuring ex-Waterboy Joe Wadeson. Tallulah spent last summer bringing her unique brand of bluesy folk-rock to festivals such as Glastonbury, Buddhafield and the much-hyped Secret Garden Party. She also performed at the now infamous Eel-Pie Island party with the Mystery Jets and is fast gaining a reputation for her electrifying live sets.
Following is the twisted new-wave romanticism of The Colony.
Having been unsigned band of the week on Steve Lamacq's BBC6 radio show with their first proper demo produced by Pat Collier (The Jesus and Mary Chain), The Colony's anthemic laments reach the parts of the heart other bands can't and find you wondering what that song you're humming is.
The headliners and hosts of the evening with the Luminaire are psych-rockers Semaphore.
On the back of receiving heavy airplay on the Irish Airwaves, Semaphore are taking London by force. Described in Hotpress Magazine's pick of the fortnight as 'a heavier and unpolished version of the La's', Irish-Italian quintet Semaphore have been in the studio putting some more rough diamonds onto wax.
Armed with the romantic inspiration of liquor-soaked love affairs and an honesty of days gone by, the resulting eponymous four track EP captures Semaphore as five men in a room playing for their lives. Described as music that 'reaches into your emotions and shakes them around' by gigwise.com and 'a must see live' by karmadownload.com the Semaphore live experience is a journey through an emotional kaleidoscope of soundscapes, leaving you somewhere very different to where you began. With DJ Moggy B playing slabs of deep-fried funk, down-home soul and disco treats to make you shake yer asses till 2am, the night promises to be a good one!
