PRODUCTION

ACCESS & LOAD IN
Venue access can be as early as noon on the day of a show, but only if arranged in advance, by email.

*Note* If you're arriving in an oversize vehicle [tour bus, very long van etc], scroll down to 'Oversize Vehicle Parking.

As far as loading in goes, you have two options, but before we get to that, here's the important bit:

Approximately five minutes before you arrive at the venue, you should call your promoter contact and ask which option is the clearest at that time. So, let's look at your choices:

FRONT OF VENUE
Pull up at the front door, or as close as you can get. We'll open the shutters and you can load in up the front stairs. We are a first floor venue.

Once you've loaded in, you may need to move your vehicle, unless you can get a parking bay on the road outside. It's 30p for each 20 minutes, then free after 6.30pm.

Otherwise, metered parking can be found on the first few yards of Dyne Road (left out of venue, first street on the left at Cookies and Cream), on Palmerston Road (left out of venue, first street on the right at Nandos restaurant), and also Netherwood Street (left out of venue, second on right).

BACK OF VENUE
The lane behind Lumi - Drakes Court Yard - tends to be very busy. It's between the MP. Moran & Sons hardware store and The Good Ship bar, both to the left of the venue as you look at it from the road. Follow it round to the right, to the end. If you use this option you will load in through the back door of the venue. We are a first floor venue.

After 5.45pm, or thereabouts, Drakes Court Yard usually empties out. You are free to leave any vehicles there until load-out. It's secluded and covered by CCTV cameras, but you are responsible for your vehicle and its contents whilst parked there.

We strongly discourage you from leaving your vehicle in the lane overnight. When you come back in the morning, you may be boxed in by at least five cars, a fork-lift truck and probably a large crane. We're not exaggerating. It's happened before. It can be a nightmare. It can take at least half an hour for you to get out and you could face the wrath of a load of office and contruction workers who'll really not want to move for you, who'll drag their heels and make it difficult and embarrassing like that time you locked yourself out of your hotel room wearing a towel and holding a bottle of tomato ketchup and a tub of margarine.

OVERSIZE VEHICLE PARKING
If you're arriving in a tour bus you'll not be able to park it behind the venue and street parking may be problematic, so here are your options [bear in mind that Kilburn High Road splits the boroughs of Brent and Camden in two. We're on the Brent side].

1. Have the bus drop you off outside the venue and have your driver park in a dedicated coach park in town, and return for you [RECOMMENDED]
2. Park close to the venue on the Brent side
3. Park close to the venue on the Camden side

1. Here's a definitive list of all the parks in Central London that can take large single and double decker tour buses. Once you have this information you'll know exactly what we do about this so calling to ask our advice won't bear much fruit, since we're not in the habit of driving tour buses around London.

(People tend to use the Tesco's park on Warwick Road, or St. Mary's Park which offers power supplies but not a lot else. +44 (0) 20 7262 9135 is their number).

2. Brent [our side of the High Road]:

Salusbury Road car park [map here]. It's about a ten minute walk to us and it costs £5 [pay and display] to park there per day. The control room can be contacted on +44 [0]20 8937 4995. Single decker buses can be accommodated. For double deckers you should call and check.

You may be granted dispensation to park on Kilburn High Road by calling +44 [0]20 8451 4571. The cost is a £10 admin. fee + £15 per 'bay' [a bay is a marked space for one vehicle]. They can issue a dispensation permit but can't guarantee you the space. So if you rock up and there's a car parked in your bay, there's nothing you can do about it, and you still have to pay. Of course, because you're in a large vehicle, you'll need more than one bay anyway. It's worth pointing out that the bays outside and near the venue empty and fill quickly and often, with cars coming and going to the shops around us.

Note that after 6.30pm parking on Kilburn High Road is free.
The Parking Shop can be contacted on +44 [0]20 8451 4571 for more information.

3. Camden [the opposite side of the High Road]:

You may be granted dispensation to park, free, but the time is limited to four hours. Note that these permits are usually given to mobile libraries, gas and electricity utilities vans etc. so you'd need to call to explain your circumstances. +44 [0] 20 7974 4646. Ask to be put through to the Permit Administration Department.

EQUIPMENT STORAGE
Lumi doesn't have a huge amount of storage space, so you can use the DJ booth to the side of the stage, assuming that enough space is left for the DJ to work. If you need more space, speak to the Artist Liaison on the night. Arrangements can sometimes be made for equipment to be left in the venue overnight, as long as pick-up is the following day before 2.00pm. Again, speak to the Artist Liaison.

AUDIO SPARES
The good people at Folkies Music are three minutes walk away, opposite side of the road, toward Kilburn Tube station, for strings, drum accessories and the like: 020 7372 4448

INTERNET ACCESS
We have a wireless network across the whole venue, as well as in The Kilburn bar downstairs. Access is free, connection speed is around 4Mb. Ask for the password when you get here.
