CATERING
We have no on-site catering facilities (other than crisps in the KIng's Head downstairs), and kindly ask you not to eat hot food in the club, but Kilburn is teeming with restaurants, cafes and gastropubs, and we're very happy to help you find what you're after.

Modern European / Italian
Our friend Alex runs Nona, which is directly opposite our front door. We eat there most days because the food is good, the portions are large and we get a discount. And so do you. Just mention Luminaire to the staff when they take your order and they'll give you 10% of pizza and pasta. Incidentally. Their pizza is very, very good indeed. And we know pizza. In fact, their pizza is some of the best we've ever tasted. No kidding.
Walking distance from The Luminaire: 10 seconds

Modern European
A big favourite among those who're heading to the Tricycle Theatre and Cinema, Small & Beautiful is something of an institution around here. The food is reliable; never anything less than decent - often good - and very inexpensive for what it is. Note though that they only accept cash as payment. NO cards.
Walking distance from The Luminaire: 1 minute.

Italian
There's only one "genuine" Italian in Kilburn, and it's 60 seconds walk from our front door. At Casareccia all the standards are represented; Bolognese, Lasagne, and their pizzas are made in a wood-fired oven. Good stuff (though for their money, their pizza is inferior to those at Nona), and it's twice as expensive.

Traditional Caff
Ellie's Cafe is a gem. You'll not find a better, cheaper, more honest fry-up-and-builders-tea place anywhere. And the clientele are fascinating. The lassie who ran it (her name wasn't Ellie) recently moved back to wherever she was from (Romania we think), which is a shame, but the new staff seem friendly enough.

International Fast Food
If you're craving a taste of home, there's a Nandos opposite (literally) the club and a McDonalds a few minutes walk away.

CASH MACHINES / ATMs
There are plenty within striking distance of the venue.
1. Immediately outside the venue on the left.
2. Right out of the venue, two doors down inside the off-licence.
3. Left out of the venue, past Cookies & Cream Cafe, cross the road at the zebra crossing and go into Food City.
All will charge you at least £1.50 to withdraw, the bastards.
If you want a free one:
If you're coming via Kilburn tube (Jubilee line), you'll find two (free) machines inside the station at the foot of the stairs. If those don't work, you'll walk past a Sainsburys a minute or so after you exit the tube station, on the right. They've got a free one, though it doesn't always seem to be working. Failing that, there's another free one at Brondesbury train station.
At the other (south) end of the High Road there are many (free) cash machines. The walk's about ten minutes though.
LATE NIGHT PROVISIONS
Kilburn is well served by 'Cost Cutter' type convenience stores and take-away food outlets and there are many just a kebab's throw from the venue door. The largest one is Bestco, open 24 hours. Left out of the venue, then cross the road at the traffic lights.
TAXIS
Two cab offices are within a minute of the venue. Left out of the venue, left onto Dyne Road, five doors up is Swift Cars and the one we recommend, owned by Sid. Sid's a good lad.
We don't recommend the one next to Nandos after they refused to take someone who'd collapsed backstage to hospital because they said he was drunk. He wasn't, and anyway, if mini-cab firms stopped carrying drunk people they'd go out of business. Idiots.
Alternatively, you might want to try the famous Addison Lee for "a total 'one stop shop' transport solution, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year." We're not exactly sure what that means, but all you need to know is that they have taxis. 020 7387 8888 will get you through.
ACCOMMODATION
We recommend the Black Lion Guest House (right out of the venue, cross the road, a few doors up beside the big Kilburn Park Grange gate. Good rates, clean, comfortable rooms, plus breakfast. £44 per person per night. +44 (0) 20 7625 1635. Tell them we sent you. Other than that, you can click here for a list of local accommodation. Scroll down that page a little and enter our postcode - NW6 7JR - and you'll see a list of those closest to us.
We can't vouch for them; we're just giving you options.
